Tropical Island Nails

Happy summer, everyone! Since today's the summer solstice (and the first real day of summer!), we decided to show you all an especially summer-y manicure. Tropical vacation, anyone?

Before you try the tropical island manicure, make sure you can do gradient nails like the ones pictured above.

To do them, choose two colors, and paint all of your nails in the lighter of the two shades. Then, mix a bit of the two colors together, and dab the paint onto the sponge. Dab the sponge on your nails to blend the shades together. When you're satisfied with the result, finish with a top coat.

Once you've mastered the gradient nails, try it with several different tropical/sunset colors. After you apply the clear coat and allow it to dry completely, use black polish (or even a black sharpie!) to draw on dolphins, starfish, palm trees, or other tropical silhouettes. Finish with another clear coat, and your tropical island nails are completed!

(Today's manicure comes from the Nailasaurus and Greenbox Art and Culture. Make sure to check out their other designs!)
