What's Hot: Peplums

This month, there a couple of crazy popular fashion trends that you've probably noticed everywhere! Here are some examples of how your favorite celebs wore one of them.

Peplums, or flaps of pleated/ruffled fabric, have been seen everywhere from blouses to skirts to pants to dresses this month.

Below, Blake Lively wears a simple cream tank tucked into a black peplum pencil skirt.

Emma Roberts rocks a potentially dangerous Valentine's Day color scheme with a fitted, long sleeved red top and pink peplum pencil skirt (not to mention her red hair!)

Twilight star Ashley Greene wears a navy peplum tank blouse with a matching navy skirt and black clutch.

Emma Watson rocks a simple black mini pencil skirt with a fuzzy white peplum blouse complete with a black belt tied in a bow and a leopard-print clutch.

Tropical Island Nails

Happy summer, everyone! Since today's the summer solstice (and the first real day of summer!), we decided to show you all an especially summer-y manicure. Tropical vacation, anyone?

Before you try the tropical island manicure, make sure you can do gradient nails like the ones pictured above.

To do them, choose two colors, and paint all of your nails in the lighter of the two shades. Then, mix a bit of the two colors together, and dab the paint onto the sponge. Dab the sponge on your nails to blend the shades together. When you're satisfied with the result, finish with a top coat.

Once you've mastered the gradient nails, try it with several different tropical/sunset colors. After you apply the clear coat and allow it to dry completely, use black polish (or even a black sharpie!) to draw on dolphins, starfish, palm trees, or other tropical silhouettes. Finish with another clear coat, and your tropical island nails are completed!

(Today's manicure comes from the Nailasaurus and Greenbox Art and Culture. Make sure to check out their other designs!)

Kids Choice Awards 2013

All your favorite stars showed up on the purple carpet for this year's Kids Choice Awards. Check out some of the standout looks below!

Disney Channel's Stefanie Scott wore an adorable peach-colored patterned tank dress with a pleated skirt, and accessorized with a simple bracelet, long dangly earrings, a gold purse, and retro chartreuse-and-navy colored heels to add a pop of color.

Selena Gomez was the perfect combination of cute and casual for the purple carpet event! She wore cream colored shorts and a stylish powder blue sleeveless top, and accessorized with silver jewelry and heels and a pale peach clutch - not to mention her adorable, cute/casual part up part down hairstyle! We love it, Selena!

As usual, Lucy Hale looked fantastic, showing up in a sleeveless, collar-topped, pleated and puffy white dress, and accessorized with a black belt and black heels. And did you notice that her pop-of-color magenta clutch purse perfectly matches her lip gloss?

Sam and Cat star Jennette McCurdy turned heads in a simple, navy, keyhole-cutout minidress, pink accent heels, and a funky salmon clutch. Her simple hair, makeup, and accessories really bring this look together!

The beautiful Victoria Justice, of course, can make any outfit look amazing, and this one was no exception. She wore a new fashion trend - tribal print - with style, and accented with salmon/orange thick strapped heels. Her wavy, carefree hairstyle looked fabulous as well.

Jessie star Peyton List wowed in a black crop top and black-and-white, knee length circle skirt. Although we like the outfit as a whole, we think that Peyton should have traded in the pointy-heeled pink shoes, black scrunchie, and thick silver bracelet for something else. The accessories made the outfit too old for her.

Former High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale wore a very shiny, silvery strapless mini-dress with an embellished sheer neck. She paired it with cute matching silver heels and a boxy pink clutch. Although the colors looked fabulous on Ashley, we thought that the dress had a little bit too much going on. A simpler dress in this color would have looked great!

We just have one question for Shake It Up star Zendaya Coleman - what on earth were you thinking when you put on this outfit? Seriously? Under what circumstances is a tie-dyed, circle skirt dress under a purple, bedazzled peter-pan collared pullover cardigan, paired with gladiator heels and those 80's era sunglasses ever acceptable for a red (or in this case, purple) carpet event!? Sorry, Zendaya, but everything, and we really mean everything, about this outfit is just horrible.

What were your favorite looks from the event? Let us know in the comments!

Artist of the Week: Demi Lovato

Over the past few years, Demi Lovato has transformed from being the lovable Sonny Monroe on Disney Channel to being one of the industry's top mega-stars. Here's how she got there:

Demi began her acting career at age seven, when she appeared on an episode of Barney and Friends. Soon after, Demi became a Disney Star, starring in hits such as As The Bell Rings, Camp Rock (with the Jonas Brothers), and Sonny With a Chance.

However, aside from being a talented actress, Demi Lovato also has an fantastic voice.

Her debut album Don't Forget was released in 2008, and after co-starring in Princess Protection Program with her bestie Selena Gomez, she released her second studio album Here We Go Again just the next year.

However, in 2011, Demi took a break from acting and singing to work out a few problems in her life. Later that year, Demi released her third studio album Unbroken. Here are some of our favorite songs from the album, "Give Your Heart a Break" and the emotional ballad "Skyscraper."

In 2012, Demi returned to the television when she was hired to be a judge on the X-Factor, and recently, her new album, DEMI, came out, featuring her new hit single, Heart Attack. You should definitely check them both out!

Demi's come a long way since her days of Barney and Camp Rock, but we know she still has a long and successful career in front of her! We can't wait to see what else she has in store!

Watermelon Nails

Today's manicure idea is cute, summery, and delicious... watermelon nails!

First, apply two coats of a hot pink or red polish, then do French tips on all your nails in a lime green to emerald green shade of polish. When these coats are dry, grab a black nail pen or even a Sharpie to draw on the seeds. Cover everything with a final coat of clear polish, and you're good to go!

And We're Back!

Hey everyone! Can't believe it's been six months since our last post! Unfortunately we were locked out of our site for all that time, but now we're back and ready for summer! Thanks for keeping up with us!

Tribal Nails

Tribal print is totally in this season! Here's how to recreate it on your nails:

This design is actually much simpler than it seems! First apply a base coat (in this case white) and paint stripes across your nails in several different colors. The stripes can vary in thickness and number. Then, add designs in the stripes! They can be anything from dots to triangles to swirls. Be creative and have fun with this nail art!

This design comes from Could Be Called Nail Art. Make sure to check out more designs at http://couldbecallednailart.tumblr.com/.

Happy nail art!

Breaking Dawn, Part 2 Premiere

The final part of the Twilight saga came to a close when Breaking Dawn, Part 2 hit theaters. Here's some of the best (and worst) looks of the night.

Ashley Greene looked amazing on the black carpet wearing a flowing pale pink one shoulder gown. From the sheer layers in the skirt to her perfect makeup and accessories, she looked very elegant.

Ashley Tisdale turned heads in a shimmering short black and gold sequin dress. The details (like how the sequins are arranged in stripes, and that there's a layer of sheer black fabric at the bottom) and her accessories really made the dress pop. She looked amazing.
Bella Thorne showed up in a bright green strapless dress with an asymmetrical hem and a black belt. The color matched her hair perfectly, and her choice of accessories - a thick necklace, a simple bracelet, and plain black heels - was spot-on. This look is one the best things we've seen Bella wear!

Ariana Grande brought her signature girly style to the premiere, in a long, strapless floral gown. As usual, Ariana looked adorable, with her hair in her signature ponytail and large green earrings in her ears. As always, well done!

Kristen Stewart wore a nude, alternating solid-and-lace dress with a structured torso and nude belt. Her hair and makeup looked beautiful, with her shiny curls pulled to one side of her head. This is one of those looks that you either love or hate, and here at Fashion Crazy we're torn. It's definitely a different look for Kristen! What do you think? Was this one of the best or worst looks of the night?

Which look was your favorite? Let us know in the comments!

Another cute hairstyle this season is the waterfall braid, which you can wear with anything.

Snowy Dream Nails

Well, it's the new year and there's still a couple feet of snow on the ground... what better way to celebrate that than to do snowy nail art?

Today's manicure comes from Nailnerd.com, called the Snowy Dream manicure. Start with a rich blue color, and once completely dried, sponge on white from the tips toward the center in layers. Add a few dots for snowflakes, and you can even play with the thickness of the paint to make snowdrifts.

Be sure to check out more amazing manicures at http://www.nailnerd.com/!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... :)

What's Hot: Coats

This winter, coats have been totally in and worn by almost every celebrity!

(L to R) Victoria Justice wears a green pea coat with boots and a cute scarf. Anne Hathaway wears a plum gray trench-inspired coat with white buttons, a colorful scarf, and a newsboy cap. Vanessa Hudgens dresses up a black dress and boots with a faux-fur leopard print coat. Amanda Seyfried wears a pale tan trench coat with an asymmetrical  cut and dark buttons to the airport. Lucy Hale wears a black coat like Amanda's, with an asymmetrical cut, silver buttons, and adorable gray boots. Taylor Swift rocks a bright red coat to match her lipstick, over black jeans and flats. Emma Watson wears a simple ski jacket with a fur hood and a tan scarf (easy to recreate at home). Rihanna wears a large sporty colorblocked ski jacket with a fur hood.

Make sure to follow this cute (and easy) trend!

Artist of the Week: Cassadee Pope

Over the past year, "The Voice" winner Cassadee Pope has made an amazing transition, from a pop-rocker with a struggling solo career to a country star who performed at Times Square on New Year's eve. Here's how she got there:

She started out her career as the lead singer of the pop-punk band Hey Monday, which opened for bands such as Fall Out Boy and All Time Low. In 2011, the band disbanded and Cassadee released a solo EP.

She appeared on Season 3 of NBC's "The Voice" and instantly became a fan favorite, singing covers of songs like Maroon 5's "Payphone" and Michelle Branch's "Are You Happy Now?" Her breakthrough moment came when she sang Miranda Lambert's "Over You," which hit #1 on iTunes charts (knocking out Gangnam Style!). After that, she sang covers of primarily country-rock covers, such as "Stand" by Rascal Flatts and "Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban.

On December 18, Cassadee was crowned the winner of "The Voice" after a showstopping performance of Faith Hill's "Cry." She was featured on various talk shows, plans to release a country-pop-rock album in early 2013, and even performed "Stand" in Times Square on New Year's Eve!

She has been a style icon for many years, and her fashion sense has even developed over the course of the show. Below, she wore a blue dress with a red necklace for her audition, and a gorgeous flowing golden dress for her winning performance of "Cry."

Cassadee definitely has a fantastic career ahead of her, and we can't wait to see her album in 2013!

New Year's Nails

Today's manicure comes from The Daily Nail.

These New Year's nails use a glitter polish over a black base coat to look like confetti in the night sky, and then silver hex glitter on each nail to look like the ball dropping in Times Square.

Happy 2013!

American Music Awards 2012

The biggest stars in music came to Hollywood on November 18th for the AMAs (American Music Awards). Check out our favorite (and least favorite) looks below!

Taylor Swift wore a gorgeous, angelic short nude dress with flowered gold accents. She paired it with golden heels and red nail polish to add color. Stunning!

Lucy Hale wore a simple black dress with a statement silver necklace. Her bright red lips and heels added a pop of color, and her silver clutch matched her simple accessories, easily putting her on the best-dressed list!

Christina Aguilera showed up in a stunning draped purple and white gown with a long slit on the side. She cut her hair short with bangs, and her new 'do made her one of the standout looks of the night!

Nicki Minaj turned heads in a simple (Nicki Minaj?!) mermaid gown in a bright green-yellow color that complemented her skin tone. It still was Nicki, though, with the bright color and crazy 'do.

"Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen wore a bejeweled pale pink gown with a plunging neckline. It was very different from her usual sneakers-and-jeans style, and it was definitely a step in the right direction! She looked fantastic.

Country superstar Carrie Underwood turned heads in a long fuchsia gown with a high neckline and cap sleeves. She looked very elegant and sophisticated.

... And then there was Jordin Sparks. You can't really tell what she was going for here, between the black mesh and the crazy loud print and the neckline and the cutout stripes... On a night where there were so many standout looks, Jordin definitely fell flat.
